We have a stella line up of five chefs joining us on stage at Loddington Farm in Kent on Thursday September 26.
The final chef joining us on stage at the Universal Cookery & Food Festival will be Robert Taylor from Tallow in Tunbridge Wells. Robert opened the doors of Tallow in 2021 serving modern British cuisine sourcing the best produce to feature on his menu, whether it be locally sourced or from suppliers further afield.
Robert will be cooking two dishes on The Staff Canteen live stage, as well as answering your questions during his live demo.
Robert will be joining Galton Blackiston, chef/patron of Michelin-starred Morston Hall, Robin Read from the newly launched The Counter by Robin Read, Harry Kirkpatrick head chef from Trinity and Jean Delport from Restaurant Interlude on stage at the Universal Cookery & Food Festival (UCFF) for The Staff Canteen Live 2024.
Harry, originally from Norfolk, has experience running 1 and 2 Michelin Star restaurants in London. Harry is currently head chef at Adam Byatt’s Michelin-starred restaurant Trinity in Clapham.
Galton is currently celebrating 25 years of holding his Michelin star—an extraordinary achievement which we will delve into during his on-stage cooking demonstration.
While Robin brings a wealth of experience to our stage having spent 2 years at Chez Nico under Nico Ladenis which at the time held 3 Michelin stars. He also worked for Marco Pierre White at the Mirabelle (1 Michelin star) and completed stagés at Le Gavroche (2 Michelin stars), The Square (2 Michelin Stars) Restaurant Paul Heathcote (2 Michelin stars).
Jean, originally from South Africa, came to the UK in 2018 to start his passion project at the now Michelin-starred Restaurant Interlude in West Sussex where sustainability is at the heart of everything they do, a philosophy that has recently earned them the prestigious Green Star at the Michelin Guide Awards 2024.
The Universal Cookery & Food Festival is an annual event, often referred to as the "Glastonbury for chefs." This year, it will be hosted at Loddington Farm, a fifth-generation apple and pear farm nestled in the heart of the Kent countryside, each year the location is selected for its unique and food-centric character and 2024 is no exception!
Beyond the TSC Live cooking stage, the festival boasts a comprehensive programme, including harvest walks, foraging sessions, live debates and discussions. Attendees will also enjoy networking opportunities, a farmers' market, and a day-long feast starting at 8am with breakfast and culminating in a BBQ and live music.
Mark Morris, the founder of The Staff Canteen said: “Myself and The Staff Canteen team can’t wait to be on stage at the Universal Cookery & Food Festival. It’s an event that I have enjoyed attending in the past, but this year we are actually going to be part of it and are really looking forward to having some fantastic chefs on stage showcasing what they do.”
Toby Wand, the managing director of 365 Events commented “Super excited to be running UCFF again after a couple of years out. The energy, passion, and creativity of all those involved will be awesome and it is brilliant to return with The Staff Canteen involved at the heart of the event. We can’t wait to welcome you all to Loddington Farm on 26th September”
